Walt Disney World This Summer? Time’s Running Out

Walt Disney World Planning

Summer always feels like it will last forever… until suddenly, it doesn’t.

Between camps, sports, and back-to-school prep, the season fills up fast. And just like that, those “we should take a big family trip” plans disappear.

But here’s the thing:
It is NOT too late to plan a summer trip to Walt Disney World.

And if you do it right? It might be the best decision you make all year.

Is It Too Late to Book a Disney World Trip for Summer?

Not at all—but timing matters.

There is still availability for:

  • Select Disney resorts
  • Park reservations
  • Dining experiences

However… options are starting to shrink.

That means the difference between a “good trip” and an amazing trip comes down to how it’s planned.

Why Planning Disney Last-Minute Feels Overwhelming

Let’s be honest—Disney is not what it used to be.

Now you’re dealing with:

  • Lightning Lanes and ride strategies
  • Dining reservations that book fast
  • Resort choices that actually impact your experience

It’s a lot. And most families either:
👉 Get overwhelmed
👉 Or settle for a trip that could have been so much better

Character Meet and Greets are Back!

Meeting your favorite character whether Mickey, Minnie or a Princess is such a magical memory made at Walt Disney World! When the parks reopened after their Covid-19 closure these meet and greets were taken away and replaced with Cavalcades. The Cavalcades are small little parades throughout the day with different characters. This was a way to see the characters and get a selfie while still remaining socially distant. Well….starting this past week we have seen some Characters in their meet and greet spots. However, you will not see them as “Meet and Greets” they are now called “Character Sightings.”

Magic Kingdom

  • Mickey Mouse is at Town Square Theater
  • Disney Princess are at Princess Fairy tale Hall

Hollywood Studios

  • Minnie Mouse is at Red Carpet Dreams
  • Disney Junior is at Animator courtyard

Yes, this is only two parks and a limited amount of characters but hey, it’s a start!!!
