I recently spent three weeks in Europe enjoying incredible cuisine, breathtaking sights, and—unfortunately—experiencing a heatwave. When we arrived in Madrid, the weather was delightful, but it soon shifted to the intense European heatwave typical of June and July.

Schedule indoor activities or tours during the hottest parts of the day to escape the sun and heat. Museums, palaces, and castles offer a cool refuge and rich cultural experiences.

Remember that summer days in Europe are long, with sunsets often taking place late in the evening. There’s no need to rush your mornings—start your day a bit later and embrace the vibrant nightlife in cooler temperatures. Grab a gelato and join the locals in the town squares for a memorable, relaxed evening.
