Explore Cancun safely 🌴✈️ Avoid dangers with these tips now!

Our agency is ready to travel to Cancun next month for an exclusive invite to tour resorts and learn about the amazing things to see in the area.  Our agency works hard to ensure we keep up with our relationships with our suppliers.  This includes going to various destinations to learn more.

However, I am seeing a lot of social media posts about concerns people have with traveling to Cancun.  I would like to take this opportunity to talk about some of the concerns.

Are you dreaming of a sunny getaway to Cancun, but worried about the recent news reports of violence and unrest in the area? Well, fear not, because I’m here to give you some guidance on why it is still safe and fun to visit this beautiful destination.

First of all, a majority of the incidents you hear about are isolated and far away from the tourist zones. Cancun is a huge city with over a million inhabitants, and most of the trouble happens in the outskirts or in neighboring towns. The hotel zone, where most of the resorts and attractions are located, is well protected by security forces and has a low crime rate.

Secondly, there are so many amazing things you can do and see in Cancun. From the stunning white sand beaches and turquoise waters, to the ancient Mayan ruins and cenotes, to the vibrant nightlife and cultural events, there is something for everyone in this paradise. You can snorkel with colorful fish and turtles, zip-line through the jungle, explore underground caves, shop at local markets, dance at world-class clubs, or just relax at a spa. The possibilities are endless!

Thirdly, let me give you a tip on how to avoid any potential risks or scams while traveling to Cancun. The key is to use vetted suppliers for your transportation, accommodation, tours, and activities. Afterall, that is why you have reached out to Life is Better Traveling as we have done that work for you!

Don’t trust random people on the street who offer you cheap deals or free gifts. They might be trying to rip you off or lure you into a dangerous situation. Instead, book with reputable companies like Life is Better Traveling that have good reviews and ratings online. By using vetted suppliers, you can ensure that you get quality service and safety to give you peace of mind while on your vacation.

So, what are you waiting for? Pack your bags and book your trip to Cancun today! You won’t regret it! And don’t forget to subscribe to my newsletter for more travel tips and stories. Until next time, happy travels!

Walt Disney World Tips & Tricks From The Pros

Walt Disney World is truly the most *magical* place on earth, and visiting there is an incredible experience that you and your family won’t soon forget.

However, this lifetime experience requires some careful planning to make the most out of it - you don’t want to miss out on any of the magic!

Life Is Better Traveling has put together some TIPS & TRICKS to help you navigate through your Disney World vacation, using our knowledge from many years of Disney travel.

Walt Disney World is incredible. There are popular rides, characters, shows, fireworks, food, and more! To make it even more special, we have some tricks to share for saving money, avoiding lines, securing restaurant reservations, and more.

Take a look, and get started on your way toward making your Disney vacation magical!

25 Tips & Tricks:

  1. Best Time To Visit: Disney World is always quieter when schools are in session, so planning to visit WDW during the times of the year that school is in session is a great start! Other times that are lighter: January, February, the last two weeks of August, September, October week-days, and early November week-days. Check-in on a Friday if you can, since most people arrive on Saturdays.

  2. Make Pass Reservations: Purchase your Disney Park Passes ahead of time. (necessary for set date passes up until January 2024) Many Disney hotels offer these as a package deal - and of course, your travel planner can arrange all of this for you.

  3. Set up My Disney Experience App and Genie+: Highly recommend this! This app is really easy to use and will allow you to plan each day with activity and ride reservations, dining reservations, order-to-go, mobile checkout, and more. It’s also easy to edit your plans and ask questions directly with a chat with a Cast Member. Genie+ allows you access to Lightening Lane (skip the long lines!), and much more. It’s a $15 add-on to have “Genie+” and well worth every penny!

  4. Genie+ Extras: Get free photo downloads of attraction pics! There are also fun and free “photo lenses” to try out and audio experiences within the app.

  5. My Experience App Musts: Use your app to locate bathrooms, see ride wait times, PhotoPass spots, and character greeting locations!

  6. Disney Merch: You’ll save some money if you purchase your Disney shirts, ponchos, extra phone batteries, and souvenirs beforehand. If not, there are great stores you’ll run across, and Main Street stores to check out as you exit at the end of the day.

  7. Strollers and ACVs: Strollers are cheaper off-property. Arrange ahead of time to rent through nearby locations. (we can help you with this) If renting in parks (this is true for ACVs also), arrive extra early. Tip: Place a ribbon or bright bow on it to easily find it after rides.

  8. Hotel-ready: Arrange for Amazon to send drinks, water, snacks, sunblock, and extra fun Disney things directly to your hotel room. This will save you money and time.

  9. Day Of: Arrive 45 minutes early to park and get started. Disney hotel guests are given a 30-minute earlier entry at many resorts.

  10. Comfort: Wear comfortable shoes - a must! You’ll be walking for hours.

  11. Disney Dining plans: These plans can be great for many families! Drinks and snacks and set meals are included, simplifying your trip - and great for setting a budget.

  12. Disney Dining reservations: These can be made 180 days prior to your visit! Online reservations are simplest and open at 6 am, 180 days ahead of time. (of course, your vacation planner can arrange dining for you, along with great recommendations). If you are a large group, consider booking as two smaller groups, etc.

  13. Food and drink savings: Ask for free water at any quick-service station. Share meals and order kid meals - even if you are an adult. Disney moderate resorts offer free dining.

  14. Lunch Time: Mid-day is busy for rides, so plan your lunch reservations for then.

  15. Waitlists Are Your Friend: Use the virtual waitlist early in the day to snag last-minute restaurant reservations - it works!

  16. Open Table: shhh! This is a little know secret. Some restaurants in the Disney Springs area are also listed on open table for making reservations. Give it a try.

  17. Festival Fun: Don’t miss out on Disney’s different festivals, such as the Flower and Garden Festival, Epcot Food and Wine Festival, Holiday Festivals, Festival of the Arts, etc. (opening days are very crowded). They are incredible!

  18. Shopping: Disney delivery will deliver your purchases straight to your hotel for you so that you don’t have to carry things around in the park all day.

  19. Ride Waits: Be sure to watch wait times in your My Experience app. They even have “forecasted” times. Some rides require virtual passes (Guardians of the Galaxy in Epcot and Tron LIghtcycle, for example)

  20. Play: Also add the fun Disney app called “Play”. It’s great entertainment with fun facts to read about while waiting in lines.

  21. Fireworks: You don’t want to miss the Fantasmic Show or Happily Ever After Fireworks! Some restaurants offer packages with perfect views.

  22. End Of Day Line-up: Get in line for one last ride just before the park is about to “close”. You’ll end up squeezing in one more ride, as the park’s official closing times take about an hour.

  23. Monorail: The monorail is a blast - kids love it! At the end of the day, beat the lines and use the resort monorail. The express has long lines.

  24. Disney Springs: Be sure to visit Disney Springs for after-hour drinks and daytime shopping and eating.

  25. Let LIFE IS BETTER TRAVELING help you arrange your Disney trip: We know it’s a lot! We have the experience needed to make your trip a breeze so that you won’t miss anything, and you can just relax and enjoy!

Why are passports taking so long?

It all boils down to health being tantamount. The offices were closed during COVID and are still not operating at 100%. This led to a backlog in requests. Labor in every field has been impacted from the pandemic, and the Department of State is no exception. There’s only so much each person can do, which leads to a ripple effect of consequential delays.

I need to renew or get my passport, NOW!!

“Mary is ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! She was extremely knowledgeable about each of the cities we went to and different excursions we were able to try. She gave us wonderful recommendations of what to do and what is not worth the time and/or money. She was very organized and sent us a binder of our itinerary as well as all of the vouchers we would need for our trip. She set up personal transfers from the airports/train stations/hotels/etc. which was wonderful! We did not have to worry about what time we needed to leave or how we were going to get there. This allowed us to enjoy our trip and not stress about the details. I would recommend Mary to anyone looking for an amazing and stress-free trip! She thinks of every little thing and is there to guide you every step of the way! I will definitely be using her anytime we need a vacation and recommending her to all of our friends and family!!

London has a very special place in my heart.

The vibrant city of London has something for everyone! It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, attracting millions of visitors every year. Known for its rich history, stunning architecture, and vibrant culture, the city has something to offer everyone.

There is no shortage of things to see and do in London.

In addition to its iconic historical and cultural attractions, London is also known for its beautiful parks and gardens, which offer a beautiful and peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.

In this article, I will share the top 5 sightseeing things to do, 5 hidden gems of London, and 5 must-try shopping and food destinations for you to explore.

Top 5 Sightseeing Things To Do

London is home to some of the world's most famous historical landmarks, each with its own unique story and significance.

  1. Tower of London: The Tower of London has stood guard over the city for almost 1,000 years. The tower has served as a royal palace, a fortress, and a prison, and is now home to the Crown Jewels, (gasp!) one of the most valuable collections of jewelry in the world.

  2. Buckingham Palace: Buckingham Palace is the official residence of the British monarch. Built in 1703, the palace has been the home of the royal family since the reign of Queen Victoria. Visitors can watch the Changing of the Guard ceremony outside the palace, which takes place daily during the summer months and on alternate days during the winter.

  3. The London Eye: The London Eye is a giant Ferris wheel right in London! It offers breathtaking views of the city. The ride takes approximately 30 minutes, and visitors can see landmarks while riding, like the Houses of Parliament, St. Paul's Cathedral, and the Shard, from the top.

  4. The Tower Bridge: The Tower Bridge is often mistaken for London Bridge. The bridge is actually one of the most recognizable landmarks in the city, and visitors can walk across the high-level walkways for incredible views of the River Thames. Get your cameras out - this is truly Instagram-worthy!

  5. The British Museum and The National Gallery: I love The British Museum. It is located in Bloomsbury, and it is one of the most famous museums in the world! There you will find an incredible collection of artifacts from around the globe, including the Rosetta Stone and the Elgin Marbles. Also, check out the National Gallery. It is located in Trafalgar Square. The gallery is home to one of the world's greatest collections of European paintings, by artists like Leonardo da Vinci, Vincent van Gogh, and Rembrandt. Imagine seeing that up close! Other museums and galleries worth exploring are the Tate Modern, the Victoria and Albert Museum, and the Natural History Museum.

Top 5 Hidden Gems Of London

There are too many hidden gems in London to mention them all, but here are my favorites:

  1. Hyde Park: One of the most famous parks in London is Hyde Park, which covers 350 acres and is home to a lake, a rose garden, and several fountains and statues. While enjoying the beauty, you can also rent boats or bicycles to explore the park further. Every corner seems to have unique gems to find!

  2. Kensington Gardens: While at Hyde Park, visit the nearby Kensington Gardens. This beautiful park in London is home to several beautiful gardens, including the Italian Garden and the Sunken Garden, as well as Kensington Palace, the former residence of Princess Diana. While in the area, walk around Kensington and see if you can find Freddie Mercury’s house.

  3. Harry Potter Studio Tour: Any HP fans? One of the most unique experiences in London is visiting the Harry Potter Studio Tour, which offers a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the Harry Potter films. You’ll be able to see the actual sets, costumes, and props used in the films, and even try on a Hogwarts robe, yourself!

  4. Street Art Tour: Another unique activity in London is taking a street art tour. This will take you on a journey through some of the city's most colorful neighborhoods to see some of the world's best street art. The tours usually include some stops at famous street art locations like Brick Lane and Shoreditch - incredible!

  5. The Churchill War Rooms: The Churchill War Rooms is another unique attraction in London, especially great for history buffs! It offers a unique glimpse into the life of Winston Churchill and the Cabinet War Rooms during World War II. You’ll be able to explore the underground bunker while there!

Top 5 Must-Try Shopping and Food Spots

London is a foodie’s and shopper's paradise, with everything from luxury department stores - to sweet tea shops  - to quirky vintage shops.

  1. Oxford Street: One of the most famous shopping destinations in London is Oxford Street, which is home to over 300 shops and department stores, including the world-famous Selfridges and John Lewis.

  2. Borough Market: Borough Market is one of the oldest and largest food markets in the city. For foodies, the Borough Market is a must-visit attraction that offers a variety of food stalls, restaurants, and bars. The market is known for its fresh produce, artisanal cheese, and locally brewed beer. Yum!

  3. Brick Lane: Brick Lane is a must-visit destination that offers a variety of Asian and Indian cuisine, including curry houses, street food stalls, and sweet shops. The area is also known for its vintage shops and hip street art.

  4. Covent Garden: Covent Garden is another famous shopping and dining destination that offers a variety of shops, restaurants, and bars. Visitors can enjoy street performances, live music, and theater shows while exploring the area.

  5. The Candlelight Club: Looking for something truly unique? Then head on over to central London’s The Candlelight Club for a drink and some dancing. It is a 1920s Prohibition style night club that has an actual secret location! With a little digging on Google, you’ll find out where it is when you book. Be sure to dress your flapper best to impress!

Bonus: 3 Day Trips from London not to miss!

While there is plenty to see and do in London, there are also many cool day trips to enjoy!

  1. Stonehenge: One of the most popular day trips from London is to Stonehenge, one of the most famous prehistoric monuments in the world. Visitors can explore the site and learn about its fascinating history.
