Ever stumbled upon a sweet deal on flights, only to find out later that your bargain left you longing for comfort? We’ve all been there! At Life is Better Traveling, we believe that a great journey starts with a well-chosen flight. So, let’s dive into why it’s crucial to look beyond price tags and understand the different flight classes—especially when you’re eyeing those tempting basic economy fares.
Why Flight Class Matters
When booking a flight, the ticket price can be alluring. However, focusing solely on the cost can lead to unexpected surprises that might sour your travel experience. Here are a few reasons why considering the class of service is essential:
1. Comfort Levels:
– Basic Economy: This is typically the least expensive, but it often comes with tightly packed seats and restrictions on seat choice.
– Economy: Offers a bit more flexibility and comfort.
– Premium Economy, Business, and First Class: Increasingly higher levels of comfort, more legroom, and better in-flight services.
2. Baggage Allowance:
– Basic Economy: Usually, carry-on luggage and checked baggage might not be included, or fees might be higher.
3. Flexibility:
– Basic Economy: Typically, no changes or cancellations are allowed, or they’re very costly.
– Other Classes: Offer more lenient policies regarding changes and cancellations.
What to Look for When Booking Basic Economy:
Basic economy tickets are tempting due to their price, but here’s what you need to keep in mind before hitting that “Book Now” button:
1. Seat Selection:
– Often, seats are assigned at check-in, and there is no guarantee you’ll sit with fellow travelers.
2. Boarding Group:
– You may be among the last to board, meaning overhead bin space can be scarce.
3. Baggage Policies:
– Check if carry-on luggage is included. Sometimes, only a personal item is allowed for free.
4. Change and Cancellation Policies:
– These tickets are usually non-refundable and non-changeable. Know the risks if your plans aren’t set in stone.
5. Amenities:
– Basic Economy often excludes perks such as in-flight meals and Wi-Fi. Know what you can live without for the duration of your flight.
Our Advice?
When booking flights, balance cost with comfort and convenience. A slightly higher fare might save you from headaches and extra costs down the road.
Travel should be a joy from start to finish, and at Life is Better Traveling, we’re here to help you navigate these choices. If you’re ever unsure about which ticket class to choose, reach out. We’ll get you the best value while ensuring you enjoy the ride.

Cancun! I just returned from a beach adventure in sunny Mexico! I had the privilege of attending the Apple Leisure Group (ALG) Mega Fam trip and the ALG Sapphire Elite travel agencies retreat. Both events were very educational and eye opening for me. The one that I learned that I wanted to share with you, NAME, is that immersing yourself in the culture no matter where you travel is the most memorable experience one will have.
I had an opportunity to help paint a school in Cancun for children with disabilities. To my surprise, many travel agents didn’t opt in for this opportunity, but I jumped right on it. I wanted to experience more than just the beautiful beaches of Cancun, I wanted to experience the culture. The school looked amazing after a few hours, and the best part was the smiles and laughter the children had during the pizza party we had for them. I don’t remember all the things I did on this trip, but this one opportunity helping the kids is all I can think about now being home
So I am proud to say that I am happy to help our clients and friends with their next vacation to Mexico that may include a bit of Voluntourism. Are you ready to soak up the sun on some of the world’s most stunning beaches and indulge in adventures that will leave you buzzing with excitement? Look no further! This month, we’re spotlighting the breathtaking coastlines of Cancun and Riviera Maya and the exhilarating excursions these destinations offer.
Cancun’s Spectacular Shores:
Embrace the essence of paradise on the pristine beaches of Cancun. Picture this: soft, white sands beneath your feet, crystal-clear azure waters inviting you for a dip, and the sun setting on the horizon in a burst of colors.
– Playa Delfines: A serene escape from the more crowded spots, perfect for a day under the sun with panoramic views and postcard-worthy photo ops.
– Forum Beach Cancun: Ideal for water sports enthusiasts. Whether it’s jet-skiing, parasailing, or a simple swim, Forum Beach offers it all.
Riviera Maya’s Coastal Charm:
Stretching from the bustling Playa del Carmen to the tranquil Tulum, Riviera Maya boasts miles of gorgeous coastline.
– Akumal Beach: Known for its snorkeling, Akumal offers a unique opportunity to swim with sea turtles right off the shore.
– Maroma Beach: Often listed as one of the world’s most beautiful beaches, Maroma is a hidden gem where tranquility meets tropical beauty.
Adventure Time in Cancun & Riviera Maya:
Add a dash of adrenaline to your beach holiday with these recommended excursions:
1. Cenote Diving in Riviera Maya: Dive into the captivating underwater world of cenotes. These natural sinkholes offer crystal-clear fresh waters and are a haven for divers and snorkelers alike.
2. Ziplining in Selvatica: Fly through the treetops and over the lush Mayan jungle. It’s an exhilarating way to experience the natural beauty of the region.
3. Chichen Itza Day Trip: No visit to Cancun is complete without exploring the ancient ruins of Chichen Itza, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Learn about the rich Mayan culture and history.

Embarking on an an adventure in Italy with kids and grandkids in tow promises the blend of enriching experiences steeped in history and culinary delights that delight all ages. Italy, a country where the ethos “La famiglia è tutto” (family is everything) really rings true, offers a tapestry of activities that cater to the young and the young at heart, making it an ideal destination for a multi-generational family vacation. From the art-drenched streets of Florence to the stoic ruins of Rome and the culinary heartlands of Naples, let’s uncover the joys of traveling through Italy with your family.
Embracing Italy with Kids and Grandkids: Activities Galore
Creating Culinary Memories: Pizza Making and Beyond
However, the culinary journey doesn’t end with pizza. Italy is home to a myriad of cooking classes. From hand-rolled pasta to divine gelato-making sessions, where the mystery of this beloved dessert is unraveled, much to the delight of the little ones.
Stepping Back in Time: Interactive History Lessons
Italy’s landscape is dotted with historical sites that tell the tales of civilizations past, and thankfully, many of these sites cater to inquisitive young minds. Imagine the awe-inspiring moment as your family steps into the Colosseum in Rome. You are experiencing the grandeur of ancient gladiator battles, or wandering through the ruins of Pompeii. This is all where history feels almost tangible.
To make history come alive for kids, consider tailored tours that use virtual reality and interactive storytelling to capture their imagination. This helps transform these outings into captivating lessons rather than mundane walks through ruins.
Nature’s Playground: Outdoor Adventures
Beyond its cities, Italy’s natural landscapes offer a playground for adventure-loving families. Take a ferry to the island of Capri to explore its famed Blue Grotto. This beautiful sea cave mesmerizes visitors with its ethereal blue light. Or, engage in a family hike through the hills of Tuscany. Paths wind through picturesque vineyards and olive groves, leading to ancient castles and quaint villages, showcasing Italy’s stunning biodiversity.
Navigating Italy with Children: What to Expect
Traveling through Italy with kids and grandkids presents unique considerations. The historical nature of many Italian cities means navigating narrow cobblestoned streets with strollers can be challenging. Opting for a lightweight, easily collapsible stroller or a comfortable baby carrier can alleviate some of these difficulties.
Delving into Italian Cuisine: A Family Affair
Familiar yet Exotic: Italian Foods Your Family Will Love
Italian cuisine’s regional diversity means there’s always something new to taste. Beyond pizza and pasta, kids can delight in sampling gelato in whimsical flavors, or snacking on focaccia, a simple yet delicious Ligurian bread.
Dining Out with Kids: Italian Etiquette and Tips
Dining in Italian restaurants is a cherished experience, but it comes with its nuances, especially with kids. Italians dine late! So adjust your usual meal times, or opt for “aperitivo” time for an earlier dining option that includes light snacks. Most restaurants are kid-friendly, but it’s always wise to check if they have a children’s menu. Don’t shy away from asking for customizations to dishes; many chefs are accommodating, understanding the sometimes unpredictable palates of young diners.
Italians relish long meals, an ethos that might test the patience of younger travelers. Bringing along quiet activities can help keep kids engaged through multicourse meals. Additionally, tipping, while not mandatory, is appreciated for good service, usually rounding up the bill or leaving an extra 5-10%.
Final Words: A Tapestry of Experiences
Traveling to Italy with kids and grandkids unearths a treasure trove of experiences that enlighten, delight, and create lifelong memories. It’s a journey where generations can connect. Learning and laughing together amidst the backdrop of one of the world’s most enchanting destinations. Through its food, its history, and the warmth of its people, Italy teaches us that at the heart of travel is family.
Embarking on this Italian adventure presents an invaluable opportunity to bond, explore, and experience the world through fresh eyes, reminding us, indeed, that life is truly better traveling.

Our agency is ready to travel to Cancun next month for an exclusive invite to tour resorts and learn about the amazing things to see in the area. Our agency works hard to ensure we keep up with our relationships with our suppliers. This includes going to various destinations to learn more.
However, I am seeing a lot of social media posts about concerns people have with traveling to Cancun. I would like to take this opportunity to talk about some of the concerns.
Are you dreaming of a sunny getaway to Cancun, but worried about the recent news reports of violence and unrest in the area? Well, fear not, because I’m here to give you some guidance on why it is still safe and fun to visit this beautiful destination.
First of all, a majority of the incidents you hear about are isolated and far away from the tourist zones. Cancun is a huge city with over a million inhabitants, and most of the trouble happens in the outskirts or in neighboring towns. The hotel zone, where most of the resorts and attractions are located, is well protected by security forces and has a low crime rate.
Secondly, there are so many amazing things you can do and see in Cancun. From the stunning white sand beaches and turquoise waters, to the ancient Mayan ruins and cenotes, to the vibrant nightlife and cultural events, there is something for everyone in this paradise. You can snorkel with colorful fish and turtles, zip-line through the jungle, explore underground caves, shop at local markets, dance at world-class clubs, or just relax at a spa. The possibilities are endless!
Thirdly, let me give you a tip on how to avoid any potential risks or scams while traveling to Cancun. The key is to use vetted suppliers for your transportation, accommodation, tours, and activities. Afterall, that is why you have reached out to Life is Better Traveling as we have done that work for you!
Don’t trust random people on the street who offer you cheap deals or free gifts. They might be trying to rip you off or lure you into a dangerous situation. Instead, book with reputable companies like Life is Better Traveling that have good reviews and ratings online. By using vetted suppliers, you can ensure that you get quality service and safety to give you peace of mind while on your vacation.
So, what are you waiting for? Pack your bags and book your trip to Cancun today! You won’t regret it! And don’t forget to subscribe to my newsletter for more travel tips and stories. Until next time, happy travels!

Walt Disney World is truly the most *magical* place on earth, and visiting there is an incredible experience that you and your family won’t soon forget.
However, this lifetime experience requires some careful planning to make the most out of it - you don’t want to miss out on any of the magic!
Life Is Better Traveling has put together some TIPS & TRICKS to help you navigate through your Disney World vacation, using our knowledge from many years of Disney travel.
Walt Disney World is incredible. There are popular rides, characters, shows, fireworks, food, and more! To make it even more special, we have some tricks to share for saving money, avoiding lines, securing restaurant reservations, and more.
Take a look, and get started on your way toward making your Disney vacation magical!
25 Tips & Tricks:
Best Time To Visit: Disney World is always quieter when schools are in session, so planning to visit WDW during the times of the year that school is in session is a great start! Other times that are lighter: January, February, the last two weeks of August, September, October week-days, and early November week-days. Check-in on a Friday if you can, since most people arrive on Saturdays.
Make Pass Reservations: Purchase your Disney Park Passes ahead of time. (necessary for set date passes up until January 2024) Many Disney hotels offer these as a package deal - and of course, your travel planner can arrange all of this for you.
Set up My Disney Experience App and Genie+: Highly recommend this! This app is really easy to use and will allow you to plan each day with activity and ride reservations, dining reservations, order-to-go, mobile checkout, and more. It’s also easy to edit your plans and ask questions directly with a chat with a Cast Member. Genie+ allows you access to Lightening Lane (skip the long lines!), and much more. It’s a $15 add-on to have “Genie+” and well worth every penny!
Genie+ Extras: Get free photo downloads of attraction pics! There are also fun and free “photo lenses” to try out and audio experiences within the app.
My Experience App Musts: Use your app to locate bathrooms, see ride wait times, PhotoPass spots, and character greeting locations!
Disney Merch: You’ll save some money if you purchase your Disney shirts, ponchos, extra phone batteries, and souvenirs beforehand. If not, there are great stores you’ll run across, and Main Street stores to check out as you exit at the end of the day.
Strollers and ACVs: Strollers are cheaper off-property. Arrange ahead of time to rent through nearby locations. (we can help you with this) If renting in parks (this is true for ACVs also), arrive extra early. Tip: Place a ribbon or bright bow on it to easily find it after rides.
Hotel-ready: Arrange for Amazon to send drinks, water, snacks, sunblock, and extra fun Disney things directly to your hotel room. This will save you money and time.
Day Of: Arrive 45 minutes early to park and get started. Disney hotel guests are given a 30-minute earlier entry at many resorts.
Comfort: Wear comfortable shoes - a must! You’ll be walking for hours.
Disney Dining plans: These plans can be great for many families! Drinks and snacks and set meals are included, simplifying your trip - and great for setting a budget.
Disney Dining reservations: These can be made 180 days prior to your visit! Online reservations are simplest and open at 6 am, 180 days ahead of time. (of course, your vacation planner can arrange dining for you, along with great recommendations). If you are a large group, consider booking as two smaller groups, etc.
Food and drink savings: Ask for free water at any quick-service station. Share meals and order kid meals - even if you are an adult. Disney moderate resorts offer free dining.
Lunch Time: Mid-day is busy for rides, so plan your lunch reservations for then.
Waitlists Are Your Friend: Use the virtual waitlist early in the day to snag last-minute restaurant reservations - it works!
Open Table: shhh! This is a little know secret. Some restaurants in the Disney Springs area are also listed on open table for making reservations. Give it a try.
Festival Fun: Don’t miss out on Disney’s different festivals, such as the Flower and Garden Festival, Epcot Food and Wine Festival, Holiday Festivals, Festival of the Arts, etc. (opening days are very crowded). They are incredible!
Shopping: Disney delivery will deliver your purchases straight to your hotel for you so that you don’t have to carry things around in the park all day.
Ride Waits: Be sure to watch wait times in your My Experience app. They even have “forecasted” times. Some rides require virtual passes (Guardians of the Galaxy in Epcot and Tron LIghtcycle, for example)
Play: Also add the fun Disney app called “Play”. It’s great entertainment with fun facts to read about while waiting in lines.
Fireworks: You don’t want to miss the Fantasmic Show or Happily Ever After Fireworks! Some restaurants offer packages with perfect views.
End Of Day Line-up: Get in line for one last ride just before the park is about to “close”. You’ll end up squeezing in one more ride, as the park’s official closing times take about an hour.
Monorail: The monorail is a blast - kids love it! At the end of the day, beat the lines and use the resort monorail. The express has long lines.
Disney Springs: Be sure to visit Disney Springs for after-hour drinks and daytime shopping and eating.
Let LIFE IS BETTER TRAVELING help you arrange your Disney trip: We know it’s a lot! We have the experience needed to make your trip a breeze so that you won’t miss anything, and you can just relax and enjoy!

Curious about the best airport lounges? Want to get in? Tips on how to get you in!....
Did you know that there are places in the airport you can go to escape the manic nature of the terminal? They’re called airport lounges. Airport lounges are some of the best places to spend time before your flight as they are their own getaway. They often offer free food and drinks, spacious seating, free Wi-Fi, and even some provide amenities like showers and nap pods. If you are in a larger airport some lounges offer spas, barbershops and workout equipment.

“Mary is ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! She was extremely knowledgeable about each of the cities we went to and different excursions we were able to try. She gave us wonderful recommendations of what to do and what is not worth the time and/or money. She was very organized and sent us a binder of our itinerary as well as all of the vouchers we would need for our trip. She set up personal transfers from the airports/train stations/hotels/etc. which was wonderful! We did not have to worry about what time we needed to leave or how we were going to get there. This allowed us to enjoy our trip and not stress about the details. I would recommend Mary to anyone looking for an amazing and stress-free trip! She thinks of every little thing and is there to guide you every step of the way! I will definitely be using her anytime we need a vacation and recommending her to all of our friends and family!!”

There is no shortage of things to see and do in London.
In addition to its iconic historical and cultural attractions, London is also known for its beautiful parks and gardens, which offer a beautiful and peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.
In this article, I will share the top 5 sightseeing things to do, 5 hidden gems of London, and 5 must-try shopping and food destinations for you to explore.

Top 5 Sightseeing Things To Do
London is home to some of the world's most famous historical landmarks, each with its own unique story and significance.
Tower of London: The Tower of London has stood guard over the city for almost 1,000 years. The tower has served as a royal palace, a fortress, and a prison, and is now home to the Crown Jewels, (gasp!) one of the most valuable collections of jewelry in the world.
Buckingham Palace: Buckingham Palace is the official residence of the British monarch. Built in 1703, the palace has been the home of the royal family since the reign of Queen Victoria. Visitors can watch the Changing of the Guard ceremony outside the palace, which takes place daily during the summer months and on alternate days during the winter.
The London Eye: The London Eye is a giant Ferris wheel right in London! It offers breathtaking views of the city. The ride takes approximately 30 minutes, and visitors can see landmarks while riding, like the Houses of Parliament, St. Paul's Cathedral, and the Shard, from the top.
The Tower Bridge: The Tower Bridge is often mistaken for London Bridge. The bridge is actually one of the most recognizable landmarks in the city, and visitors can walk across the high-level walkways for incredible views of the River Thames. Get your cameras out - this is truly Instagram-worthy!
The British Museum and The National Gallery: I love The British Museum. It is located in Bloomsbury, and it is one of the most famous museums in the world! There you will find an incredible collection of artifacts from around the globe, including the Rosetta Stone and the Elgin Marbles. Also, check out the National Gallery. It is located in Trafalgar Square. The gallery is home to one of the world's greatest collections of European paintings, by artists like Leonardo da Vinci, Vincent van Gogh, and Rembrandt. Imagine seeing that up close! Other museums and galleries worth exploring are the Tate Modern, the Victoria and Albert Museum, and the Natural History Museum.
Top 5 Hidden Gems Of London
There are too many hidden gems in London to mention them all, but here are my favorites:
Hyde Park: One of the most famous parks in London is Hyde Park, which covers 350 acres and is home to a lake, a rose garden, and several fountains and statues. While enjoying the beauty, you can also rent boats or bicycles to explore the park further. Every corner seems to have unique gems to find!
Kensington Gardens: While at Hyde Park, visit the nearby Kensington Gardens. This beautiful park in London is home to several beautiful gardens, including the Italian Garden and the Sunken Garden, as well as Kensington Palace, the former residence of Princess Diana. While in the area, walk around Kensington and see if you can find Freddie Mercury’s house.
Harry Potter Studio Tour: Any HP fans? One of the most unique experiences in London is visiting the Harry Potter Studio Tour, which offers a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the Harry Potter films. You’ll be able to see the actual sets, costumes, and props used in the films, and even try on a Hogwarts robe, yourself!
Street Art Tour: Another unique activity in London is taking a street art tour. This will take you on a journey through some of the city's most colorful neighborhoods to see some of the world's best street art. The tours usually include some stops at famous street art locations like Brick Lane and Shoreditch - incredible!
The Churchill War Rooms: The Churchill War Rooms is another unique attraction in London, especially great for history buffs! It offers a unique glimpse into the life of Winston Churchill and the Cabinet War Rooms during World War II. You’ll be able to explore the underground bunker while there!
Top 5 Must-Try Shopping and Food Spots
London is a foodie’s and shopper's paradise, with everything from luxury department stores - to sweet tea shops - to quirky vintage shops.
Oxford Street: One of the most famous shopping destinations in London is Oxford Street, which is home to over 300 shops and department stores, including the world-famous Selfridges and John Lewis.
Borough Market: Borough Market is one of the oldest and largest food markets in the city. For foodies, the Borough Market is a must-visit attraction that offers a variety of food stalls, restaurants, and bars. The market is known for its fresh produce, artisanal cheese, and locally brewed beer. Yum!
Brick Lane: Brick Lane is a must-visit destination that offers a variety of Asian and Indian cuisine, including curry houses, street food stalls, and sweet shops. The area is also known for its vintage shops and hip street art.
Covent Garden: Covent Garden is another famous shopping and dining destination that offers a variety of shops, restaurants, and bars. Visitors can enjoy street performances, live music, and theater shows while exploring the area.
The Candlelight Club: Looking for something truly unique? Then head on over to central London’s The Candlelight Club for a drink and some dancing. It is a 1920s Prohibition style night club that has an actual secret location! With a little digging on Google, you’ll find out where it is when you book. Be sure to dress your flapper best to impress!
Bonus: 3 Day Trips from London not to miss!
While there is plenty to see and do in London, there are also many cool day trips to enjoy!
